Writer Friends Challenge

What is Writer Friends Challenge?

Writer Friends Challenge started as a seed of an idea at the end of 2020. The plan all came together quickly and first launched on Instagram in February 2021. I had two goals for the challenge. The first goal was to help writers create engaging content which helped them grow and shine on Instagram. The second goal was to help writers connect and find friendship. It has been years since we started and the goals remain the same.

Without a doubt, Instagram is a leading social media platform and it is the place to be for writers. According to recent stats from Instagram, they have over 2 billion monthly users. But it doesn’t have to be scary! You just need to find your place. You need a community.

Writer Friends Challenge has been my way of giving back to the amazing writing community on Instagram. I am so lucky to have found such amazing writers who are kind, smart, and very thoughtful on my writing journey. I want the same things for you. Let’s be real - the more friends the better!!

I know it can be difficult to find your community. It can be hard to know where to start, who to follow, and what to post. But you don’t have to attempt Instagram alone.

Having support of your Writer Friends can make the adventure so much more rewarding. This is where Writer Friends Challenge can help!

(Find this month’s calendar on Instagram here.)

All about @Writer.Friends.Challenge

Each month I will post the new calendar with a new prompt for each day of the week in our community page on Instagram. Save that post. Share that post on your account. And take a screenshot of the calendar to include whenever you upload a new daily post.

The Basics:

𝑭𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘 your hosts on Instagram: @susanleighneedham & @writer.friends.challenge

𝑳𝒊𝒌𝒆 the monthly calendar. 𝑺𝒂𝒗𝒆 it and 𝑺𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒆 it to your profile and/or story. 𝑻𝒂𝒈 some fellow writers in the comments you think might like to join!⁣

Interpret the prompts any way you want and do as many or as few as you want. You can make traditional grid posts, carousel posts, or reels posts. Most of all — 𝑯𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝑭𝒖𝒏!!

THANK YOU

We could not have gotten this far without such a WONDERFUL community of writers particiapting each and every month. With very full hearts we want to say -THANK YOU!!
